Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!
Join me as we study Hymns for the Heart each month throughout 2025. We will be meditating on the words and truths of twelve beloved hymns of the faith.
On this episode, we hear the story of Captian John Newton and the events that led him to writing "Amazing Grace." We learn about our gracious God. We think through discussion questions that delve us deeper into biblical truth.

We are in the middle of summer here in Sydney, Australia. I have come up with a simple rhythm for our mornings during our break from homeschooling. I have found that having a bit of structured time together at the beginning of the day helps keep them from wandering around with no direction. This is a fun time of reading, learning together, music practice, and activities!

God has a will for every person and a plan for every person. His will is the gospel. He desires that all people come to know Him and to make Him known. His will is the bedrock from which the plan develops. It is in His will that we find our identity, but it is through His plan that we live out our daily callings for His glory.
This podcast is called No Higher Calling. What is my highest calling? What is your highest calling? In this episode, I share my heart and what God is teaching me from His Word in regards to the thought of His will and His plan for our lives.

We finish our Couples of the Bible study with Mary and Joseph. Why add this couple to the "undesirable couples" list? Though God saw them as highly favored, man misunderstood and deemed this couple undesirable. That did not matter to them! They knew they had received a command from God, and they were willing to fulfill it, no matter the cost.
Simeon and I talk about what it means to be wholly given to the Lord as a couple, even if that means that others misunderstand your choices.

There is a scarlet cord woven throughout all Scripture. God had a plan for the redemption of mankind. His plan was Jesus Christ. For centuries, women wondered if they would be chosen to be the mother of the promised Redeemer. Out of the pages of history, God chose Mary to have that honored privilege.
Jesus Christ has come and paid the price for our sins. He fufilled all the longings of man's heart. That is why we celebrate Christmas! But He is coming again! Come thou long expected Jesus!

Miscarriage is a devastaing loss to navigate. In 2021, Simeon and I lost a baby that we named Victory. That was a dark trial for us to walk through as a couple, but it was a loss that also affected our entire family. Though our children were young, we decided to tell them of their sibling that went to heaven.
I have been asked before for advice on helping your children process miscarriage. Every family grieves differently, and ultimately if you tell and how much you tell your child is up to the discretion of the parents. I will say from our experience, it has been good for our entire family to be able to speak of and remember our baby.
In this episode, Simeon and I share advice on how you can navigate this heartbreaking topic with your children, giving space to grieve while claiming the hope that is found in Christ.
