'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,

just to rest upon his promise,
and to know, "Thus saith the Lord."
The words of this hymn came from a grieving heart. As Louisa Stead reflected on the devastating loss of her husband, she found strength for the future as she trusted in her Lord. We can glean truths from this hymn that will help us walk in the confidence of the Lord on life's good days and on life's most challenging days.

Psalm 127:4 "As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth."
Every Christian is called to spiritual warfare, using two scriptural weapons: the sword (the Word of God) and the arrow (children, Psalm 127:4). Simeon and I discuss how arrows—our children—must be prepared, aimed, and fired to reach their potential. As Christian parents, we prepare and aim our children in their youth, then release them to fight the good fight of faith.
